Change – Cacophony in the Kitchen #BlogchatterA2Z #AtoZChallenge

Change the way you cook, deep!

K, quickly tried to comfort me despite the morning rush. Why don’t you cook something different instead of the boring bread butter, grumbled, an irritated A (K is my spouse and A is my son). Change the way you cook, deep! K repeated the same and left home for work. The boys were gone and the big house was still and silent. I locked the doors and went to my comforting place. Yes, my kitchen, my Comfort. I tried to simmer down with a Cup of Cold Coffee. I took the pocket diary from my wallet and scribbled few items. I must Change before the boys are back, I whispered to myself. I profusely thanked the ecommerce site for making hassle free purchases online. Double checked the shopping cart with my list to make sure none of the items were missed out. The clock struck one. I had only four hours to Change. I was lucky enough to spot an ofo bike at my block. I thanked the government to come up with such a wonderful idea that offered a free 1 month subscription for new signup. I was feeling young πŸ™‚. I guess the Change that K and A wanted in me is working out.

My items were neatly packed and kept ready for payment. I swiped the card and looked at the receipt. 300$ spent. A change, I whispered myself. C is for Change, C is for Cash to Cashless to Credit Card. I kissed the card back and forth. I had only four hours left for the Change. I booked a Cab and hurried home, tried to organise my routine chores and finally I am done. I laid the table for dinner and waited for the boys back home.

The door bell rang and I rushed to open like a newlywed bride, but Calmed myself and finally released the locks welcoming the boys with a broad Cheeky smile. They were surprised at me, my dress and my looks. I flaunted myself in floral attire. I waited for them to ask me something, but they dared not to open their mouth. We gathered at the dining table. K and A looked around. There was a new China flower vase with a bouquet. On the dining table, beautiful China dishes gleaming with silver trims spread with A’s favourite parmesan risotto and K’s favourite mac and cheese welcomed them. How do you like the arrangement, I asked K and A, sarcastically. Both of you wanted a Change, so here you go! I helped myself with the beautiful China to serve you the best dishes with a CHANGE. I assume K should have sympathised himself for taking a Chance with me for he never expected such an expensive damage to his wallet. Finally the Change brought a Cacophony in my kitchen replacing the old pantry with expensive china wares. I am sure, they would never ever ask me for a makeover again!

Well, I think the transition phase from 30s to 40s brings a dramatic Change in a woman. I can see the positive changes in me- aiming for a changeover in my appearance, my social life and learning skills. My Confidence has increased tenfold times. While at one end I show signs of Calm, sometimes I lose my Cool to end up Chaotic. I am enjoying this Change to the Core.

I take this opportunity to share about this wonderful woman Madam Indranee Elizabeth Nadisen, the foster mother of 43 children for the past 35 years. She was awarded the Community Champion Award for her noble contributions. She donated the award money of $10,000 to the Ramakrishna Mission and Sree Narayana Mission.

I love this quote, “A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water” – Eleanor Roosevelt.

Who says a 40 year old women cannot Dare to Dream?

Welcome to syncwithdeep! I am not a prolific blogger. My blog is just 1 month old. I love memories and that was one of my reasons to come up with blogging. I don’t have a niche as I love to write on anything that appeals to me. This is my first year with #BlogchatterA2Z #ATOZChallenge and I have taken up the category woman themed at 40. In a couple of months, I am going to set my foot on 40s, the descending hill. I am sharing on my perspective how this transition is going to transform me in the nearing future. This is absolutely my personal experience. I would be glad if you spam me with your comments, whether you agree or disagree. That way, I can know how you welcome your 40s. Stay tuned with me every day to know how I am coping with my 40s.

  1. Btw, curious to know, did Mr. K & A ever ask to change after that incidence? It’s so funny and lovely. There are some beautiful moments, like rushing to open the door as a newlywed, etc. Happiness lies in these little moments not in accumulating wealth. I think Roosevelt quote is equally valid for both men & women. Fire is the test of gold. πŸ™‚

  2. It is a constant struggle to please every person in the home for a lady of the house. Good thing you took your “change” to the extreme and made sure no one asks you again. πŸ˜€ LOL

  3. Haha.. I liked the sarcasm here, Deepa. And yes, change is the need of the hour in just everything, the law, the mindsets, the crime rate, and oneself. The only thing permanent is life is Change. so, why should we refuse to change?! Great post, Deepa πŸ™‚

  4. Loved your post. And absolutely loved the change. I am going to take a leaf out of your book should I ever face a similar situation. BTW, I am approaching 40 too, and can understand a little of what you go through. Calm and composed one moment, and breathing fire the next. )

    1. thank you CRD for dropping by. I had my say on your post early morning today. technology has been kind enough to favour both the gender and we make the right out of it. The protagonist is ME. Have a nice day πŸ™‚

  8. I positively hate it when anyone asks me to change something. Its like an instant reaction. Though on further evaluations I do change if it is a necessity.

Would have loved a pic of your expensive new China. I believe you have become more Cheeky with age!
