Seeing a ten-year-old girl working in the shop raised many questions in me.
“girl, why are you in this shop? You should be in school now.” I said.
“They give only one plate of meal a day and won’t admit my one-year-old sister and mother.”
I could not deny her answer.
Although her presence is not going to create an impact on the school attendance marking, her absence means a portion of the midday meal to her family.
You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our words this week are:
– admit and deny
– presence and absence
